Why is it warm in Puerto Rico?

Puerto Rico is located in the tropics, where the sun is high all year. This is the primary reason it is so warm: angle of insolation (incoming solar radiation). Cooler air from higher latitudes is not able to make it so far south, and so Puerto Rico is never able to cool off from its relative warmth.
