One of the diodes in the bridge may be shorted out. Use an ohm meter and check the front to back resistance on each of the diodes. It should have a high ohm reading one way (blocking) and low the other way (conducting).

Should a 20 amp circuit breaker get warm while in use?

Yes all breakers will get warm when in use. The full load current of the load flows through the device. Class A breakers current trip rating is rated at 40 degrees C. If in ambient temperatures higher that 40 C then the thermal trip rating lowers. Likewise if the ambient temperature becomes lower the trip rating increases. Sometimes breakers have to be rearranged in the electrical panel to keep high current breakers away from each other. The ambient temperature of adjacent breakers will raise a breakers temperature and cause needless tripping.

What can cause a circuit breaker to suddenly start tripping?

If the breaker trips when nothing is turned on it could be a mouse problem. If it only trips when certain lights or appliances are turned on one of them is probably the reason. If it trips when nothing is being turned on or off something is getting hot. You should then have qualified electrician look at it. Hope this is usefull.

WHY DOES MY blow heater keep tripping out your electrics?

This could be either a fault with the appliance or you are simply overloading the circuit . You should consult an qualified electrician regarding this and not use this item until tested .

What's being done wrong when the electric juicer keeps tripping the outlet?

Read your instruction manual. If it says "Do not plug into a plug with a ground fault circuit interrupter," you are plugging it into the wrong type of outlet. Otherwise and most probably, nothing is being done wrong when the electric juicer keeps tripping the outlet. The outlet is tripping due to a ground fault. That means there is a loose wire or bad wire in the electric juicer. The ground fault keeps tripping to keep you from getting electrocuted. If the juicer is new or still under warranty, you need to take it back. If it is not under warranty, you need to get it fixed or throw it away.

Why does the 59n relay keep tripping the breaker?

The 59 relay is an overvoltage relay. The 59N relay is an overvoltage relay for the neutral circuit. Check neutral and make sure the system is properly balanced.

What would cause a breaker to trip?

A breaker will keep tripping until the fault that caused it to trip is corrected. That's what it is designed to do. There's either a circuit overload or a short circuit. How fast the breaker trips can indicate how overloaded it is. If you are very close to the rating of the breaker you can actually trip it over time. If you are definitely over the breaker will usually trip instantly. If there is a short circuit you can usually tell that by how violently the breaker trips. If you have conduit you can hear the wires banging around in the pipe. A frequently tripping breaker may also be faulty and need to be replaced - breakers are designed to fail by tripping prematurely rather than by not tripping at all, as this is much safer. This is very often the case for breakers that trip at seemingly random intervals, often when very little load is being drawn.

Why does my fuel pump inertia switch keep tripping on my Sable?

If the switch is mounted securely and it keeps tripping during normal driving conditions I would suspect the switch is bad.

I have a GE dryer DRSR495 that keeps tripping the curcuit breakers and has a slight burning smell what could be the problem?

The motor that drives the tumbler drum is air cooled. Get someone to look and see if there is a lint build up around the motor cooling holes. Keep the lint trap clean as this also helps keeping the running mechanism from over working. The breakers are tripping out on the overload portion of the breaker. Check that the motor is still free running when the belt is taken off. Different types of machines have different bearings in their motors. The motor bearings may be seizing up. Check the drum bearing as it may be overloading the motor.

Should circuit breakers receive routine maintenance?

Breakers do not need routine maintenance. If the distribution panel is in an environment that allows dust or dirt to build up on the breaker faces, wipe the breakers with a dry cloth. If the distribution panel has a door on the panel face keep it closed.
