Leptons are divided into three families with 4 particles (2 particles, plus their two anti-particles) in each family. In the electron family we have the electron, positron, electron neutrino and electron anti-neutrino. Each family has a higher mass than the one before it so the tauon is heavier than the muon which is heavier than the electron. The physical reason for there being three families is completely unknown and will probably win you a Nobel prize if you can figure it out!
No.
Quarks experience all four fundamental interactions, whereas leptons only experience three. Leptons do not experience the strong interaction.
the fight for independence divided families and friends
There are two types of subatomic particles hypothesized to comprise protons and neutrons. Elementary particles having mass by the types of quarks, leptons and bosons are the first. The second are composite particles, which include baryons, mesons, and leptons.
The answer is no: electrons are fermions while mesons are bosons.
Leptons are just called that: "leptons". (One example of a lepton is an electron.)

Quarks and leptons are not elements.
Its divided into 39
Taxonomically speaking, a Family is divided into Subfamily, and then Genus.
Leptons are a type of subatomic particle, and the science that deals with them is theoretical physics.

A lepton is an elementary particle that does not undergo strong interactions. Two main classes of leptons exist: charged leptons (also known as the electron-like leptons), and neutral leptons (better known as neutrinos). Charged leptons can combine with other particles to form various composite particles such as atoms and positronium, while neutrinos rarely interact with anything, and are consequently rarely observed.

all particles in particle physics are divided into two sub groups the hadrons and leptons the difference between them being that baryons interact by strong force leptons interact by weak force the hadron group can be further subdivided into two more groups the mesons and baryons muons are part of the lepton group
