No fuses on instrument panel. Any panel problems are due to faulty connections on the multi-pin plug on the back of the instrument console. Very common fault. I've fixed loads of these.

No it is not a safe thing to do. Safety wise you will be going backwards instead of forwards. The third pin was added as a safety precaution to return fault currents directly back to the distribution panel. This is turn trips the over current breaker instantaneously and removes the fault from the system.

You have to remove the upper panel, third row seat, peal back the cargo area carpet and unscrew and pop it off. It take about an hour to two to remove and get to the speaker.
