Unless it is a first party claim and the agent has draft authority or the authority to settle some minor claims, ALLclaims must be reported to the claims dept. of your insurance carrier. If you have an agent that is refusing to file a claim, you need to contact the company directly or your states dept. of insurance, they take this kind of thing goVERY SERIOUSLY....GOOD LUCK !! If you need more help let me know more details and I'm sure I can find information for you regarding whom you should contact........

What can you do if your insurance is cancelled the same day you get in an accident and total your car?

Depends on when it was cancelled. Before or after the accident? When did you get the cancellation notice? If you were cancelled before, then obviously you were uninsured. If the accident was your fault, then any costs are yours alone and not the insurance company's.

Can insurance make you pay if cars behind you get in accident?

I've got a feeling there is more to this than the question states. The answer is if you caused the accident and the police and/or insurance investigator state that you caused the accident then yes you can be at fault and liabile to pay for damages. For full disclosure, I own and operate a small Independent Insurance Agency in Gordon, Georgia and have for 22 years. I also worked as an agent for a direct writer for 3 years before that.

If you got auto insurance coverage and were in an accident the same day what is the coverage for a claim?

Insurance is VERY specific when it comes to when coverage starts. If you had the accident BEFORE you got insurance any damage sustained before you purchased the policy damage would not be covered. If you had an accident after the purchase of the policy then any damages would be covered.

What do you do if your insurance lapses during an accident?

Your insurance is either valid on the day of your accident or it isn't. If you are asking what happens if the policy was valid on the day of the accident but lapses before the claim is settled then the coverage that was in effect the day of the accident still applies. If your policy was not in effect the day of the accident then coverage will not apply.

Driver become subject to liability insurance law when accident damages amount to?

You are subject to liability insurance requirements whether or not an accident occurs. An accident has nothing to do with liability requirements. You are required to have liability insurance of at least the minimum required by your state before getting into a vehicle and driving it. Driving is what triggers the law.

How much should you get for a car accident?

It depends entirely on your insurance, the other driver's insurance, who's at fault and what injuries and damage were involved. Nobody should 'make' money due to an accident, but they should be put back in the shape they were before the accident or compensated for what can't be returned to the original status.

The same as they were before the accident. You owe the balance of the note loaned you. If you had full coverage auto insurance then you will likely have no need for concern.
