The most northerly part of the British Isles is Norwick on the Island of Unst, the most northerly of the Shetland Islands. On mainland Scotland (or mainland Great Britain) the most northerly point is Dunnet Head, not as is commonly thought John O'Groats. In the same way the most Southerly point is The Lizard, not Lands End. Perhaps the myths about both are perpetuated by the company that owns both sites!

England is a country that makes up part of the United Kingdom, along with Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. Great Britain is the island that England Scotland and Wales are part of. The United Kingdom is Great Britain and Northern Ireland. Northern Ireland is on the island of Ireland, so Great Britain does not include Northern Ireland.

Is Northern Ireland still part of Great Britain?

Northern Ireland has never been part of Great Britain. Great Britain is an island consisting of Wales, England and Scotland. Northern Ireland is on the island of Ireland which is a completely separate island. Northern Ireland, along with England, Scotland and Wales, are together known as the United Kingdom, which is probably what you are referring to. So Northern Ireland is part of the United Kingdom, but not part of Great Britain.
