2004 silverado, avalanche likly the same. I found mine cliped to a box behind the OBDII plug. cut tie wrap and pull it out. Thanks JJ

The egr is located on the front cylinder head where the belts are located, it has a five wire connector an a tube that goes to the intake pleneum. Early 2004 egr's were vacuum and later ones were all electric.
