Nowhere does it state that Jesus went to hell for three days. The Bible record has always been taken to infer that He went there for an indefinite period of time between His burial and resurrection. His body, however, was in the tomb for three days as reckoned at the time.

Scriptures:

Acts 2:31 "He seeing this before spake of the resurrection of Christ, that his soul was not left in hell, neither his flesh did see corruption."

1 Peter 3:19 "By which also he went and preached unto the spirits in prison;"

Matthew 12:40 "For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale's belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth."

Jesus' specific age is only mentioned twice in Scripture; Luke 2:42 (when he was twelve), and when He began His ministry (soon after being baptized), when He was said to be "about thirty" (Luke 3:23). A three-year ministry would have made Him about 33 at the time of the crucifixion.
