That depends on where you mean in Australia - in Adelaide (South Australia) where I live, it's wetter in autumn/winter (e.g. April - August), but up north (e.g. Darwin and north Queensland) it's usually wetter in Summer (around Christmas time).

The rainy season in Cairns is summer, which in Australia includes the months of December, January and February. Being in far North Queensland, the rainy season tends to come in early, usually November and sometimes October, and extends through to at least March.
