US Sailors manned: Brown Water Navy Riverine Boats; Swift Boats (PCF-Patrol Craft Fast, all aluminum construction); PBR's (Patrol Boat River-all fiberglass built); Alpha Boats (ASPB-Assault Support Patrol Boat, all steel construction); and Monitors (Riverine Battleships).

Vietnam was a LIMITED war and not declared. Meaning NO atomic weapons would be used (although there were plans to use them, when given the order) and congress would not declare formal war as that implied the use of atomic weapons (implied total war). The enemy in Vietnam (North Vietnam) would not face total destruction but could end the conflict by a peace agreement.
