If you are wanting to buy new GE does offer many cost efficient appliances. You should know that the cheaper GE appliances are just as good as the higher priced GE appliances they are just generally the smaller, basic versions. My GE side by side refrigerator I purchased in 2009 from Home Depot was manufactured in Mexico as per the label. It has been serviced 6 times and is today considered "unrepairable". I'm on my 2nd GE dishwasher also purchased in 2009 from Home Depot. The first quit working a month after the one year warranty expired. Thank God I had extended warranty on the refrigerator. I would not buy another GE appliance manufactured in Mexico OR without extended warranty. You no longer get what you pay for with GE products!
