All lawnmowers I have used have had Briggs & Stratton 4-cycle engines, therefore I buy Briggs & Stratton 30-weight lawnmower oil at Walmart, Home Depot, or Lowe's. It is said to formulated to be more suitable to the conditions under which a small engine is used. That being said, I have also used just about every grade of automotive oil with no ill effects seen. Just make sure that it is either 30 or 40 summer weight -- the winter weight (the smaller number with a W after it)doesn't matter.
What type of oil does a craftsman riding mower take
4 cycle mower.... gas is separate from oil!
Answerif it,s a 2 cycle mix gas 50 parts to 1 part oil,if it,s a 4 cycle . none, gas treatments will cause a lawn mower engine to over heat,I have small lawn equipment that used gas/oil ratio, I use a gas treatment in mower to keep from getting gunky over winter months, should I use a gas treatment for equipment that uses gas/oil ratio
Wash in gasoline.
Lawn Mower
10w30 will do.
If all oil the mower will not start. If only a little oil, the mower may start but run rough and smoke very much.
30 wt oil
No for your lawn mower you will just need regular lawn mower oil.
30w
SAE 30W
You may want to check your manual for your particular mower. I used 30 weight oil in my old mower circa 1978.
