When Carter found the tomb the fashion of the 1920's reflected the find and it not only was in clothing, but furniture, buildings, and accent pieces. Palm leaves, feathers, and designs reflected ancient Egypt. Women wore headpieces with peacock feathers and dresses, shawls, and coats had designs on them that showed influence of Egypt. Wonderful pieces of jewelry were made as well. This turned into the era of Art Deco items. You can still see/find items today that come from this time. Many older buildings in cities have the designs, patterns, and shapes. Columns that with palm leaves decorating the portals of doors are still there. Look for these as you walk or drive around and you will see them.

A monumental fountain was constructed in the front of the north portal of the Cathedral in 1122. The only 1100's Romanesque portal that is left displays Adam and Eve bas-reliefs.
