The Necleus is the brain of a cell. Nothing really occurs in the necleus, all the information to run the cell is found there, the neclues tells the cell what to do. I would say B. Translation only. I'm not sure through... maybe you should Google "what occurs in the necleus" and use a different source.

What does nucleus of a cell contain?

genetic material, nucleoplasm, enzymes and proteins required for gene replication, and transcription.

Why do you call the nucleus the brain of the cell?

It has genetic material called DNA which undergo different functions such as replication, transcription, translation

Does transcription require DNA?

No, Transcription does not require Replication to take place first. Transcription is simply the process of making mRNA from DNA so that the ribosomes have directions to make proteins. Replication is the complete copy of the genetic material in the host chromosome which would occur before the cell divides.

Is DNA transcription the same as DNA replication?

No - they are different processes, although both use a DNA template. DNA transcription is the copying of DNA to create mRNA, which is then translated into a polypeptide (protein). DNA replication creates a new strand of DNA.

What contains a eukaryotic cells genetic material?

The nucleus holds the cells genetic material in eukaryotes. The genome of eukaryotes is sequestered to a membrane bound organelle called the nucleus. The nucleus is the site of replication and transcription.

What role does complementary base-pairing play in DNA replication?

The base-pairing during transcription is the same as when DNA replicates, except that RNA has uracil instead of thymine.

What is the starting material of transcription?

In transcription RNA is copied from DNA,so either could be considered the starting point.

What is a thread like structures containing the genetic material?

A chromosome is the threadlike nuclear structure that contains genetic information .

What is the job of the nucleus cell?

Nucleus has various functions, but its distinctive feature is that it holds the DNA/chromosomes. Additionally to DNA replication, transcription of DNA into mRNA also takes place in the nucleus.

In the S phase of the cell cycle?

Synthesis. The replication of the genetic material basically.
