Cholinergic drugs will actually increase the release of saliva and mucus from their respective glands.

Any anticholinergic drug. That includes all the sedating antihistamines Benadryl, Doxylamine, Phenergan, Compazine, et cetera. And many of the try-cyclic antidepressants, esp. Elavil.

Scopolamine patches and Atropine eye gtts are most frequently used by our facility to dry up excess secretions.

Most over-the-counter allergy drugs such as benadryl or claratin will cause dryness.
