There are a number of different possibilities. Germany's constituent states were still semi-independent up until WW1 The central government only issued small coins up to 1 mark; larger denominations were issued by each separate state.

Could you post a picture, or enter a new question with some additional information including a description of the images on your coin and any wording you can make out? Thanks!

It really depends on its condition. A heavily damaged, warped or rusted coin will probably only yield face value - about 10 cents. Maybe .25-1.00 for moderate wear, and 5.00 for a mint condition coin.

They're not terribly rare; collectors won't give an arm and a leg for them.

German Pfennig and Mark from 1948 and up are not Deutsches Reich coins, but they were a transitional currency between the time after the war ended and federal government took over. Value depends on condition, rarity and errors, so.. somewhere between $1 and $10, errors on the coin might significantly multiply it's value.

In circulated condition, this coin is worth about $2, give or take - but in perfect uncirculated condition, it can be worth up to $10 - $20, depending on Mint mark.
