The formula is: current (in amps) = power (in watts) , divided by (240 times the power factor).

The power factor is 1 for incandescent light or heaters, otherwise it can be assumed to be 0.75 for other loads.

What is the formula for Kirchoff's current for parallel circuits?

Kirchoffs's current law states that the sum of all the currents flowing out of any point is equal to zero. In other words, the current flowing in is equal to the current flowing out.In the case of a parallel circuit, this means that if a single current branches into two or more parallel branches, then the sum of the currents in the parallel branches must be equal to the original current before it branched.

How should I calculate this. A single phase transformer is rated at 99kVA The primary voltage is 6.6kV and the secondary voltage is 220V Assume no losses and calculate The full load primary current?

First find the ratio of the transformer. 6600/220 volts. Second find the secondary current, I = W/E, 99000/220. Third divide the secondary current by the transformer ratio. The answer will be the primary current. To check your answer (W (or VA) = V x A) multiply the primary current times the primary voltage and the secondary current times the secondary voltage and they should both equal the transformer's kVA.

How do you calculate cable size for 50 hp?

just apply the formula :-p=v*i*cos(angle);now you have the power rating, load so in turn power factor so you can easily calculate the value of current.with the help of current you can chose the cable available in the market either the aluminum or copper wiresatendra.svnit@gmail.com

How do you convert hp to amp?

HP/.00134= Watts Then Watts divided by Volts = AMPS For expample. a .75 HP electric motor running on 220VAC uses 2.544 amps .75 / .00134 = 559.7015 Watts then 559.7015 / 220 = 2.544

What is the impedance of a single phase inductive circuit having a voltage of 240volts and a current flow of 10amps?

Work it out for yourself. The equation is: Z = E/I, where Z is the impedance, E is the supply voltage, and I is the load current.

Is it true that a formula can consist of a single cell reference?

It is possible for a formula not to have any cell references. Lots of functions do not use any values. To show the current date you could have the following in a formula:=TODAY()You could have a formula with a single cell reference with some operation being done on it:=B4*10You can have a formula that just has a cell reference which will just request that the current cell displays what is seen in another cell:=B4It is possible for a formula not to have any cell references. What does formula mean in mathematical terms?

A mathematical formula is a statement which, given all but one of a set of variables, allows you to calculate the possible value(s) of the missing variable. Many formulae will give single solutions but the quadratic formula, for example, usually has two solutions.

What is the formula of active power?

For a single-phase system, active (or 'true') power is the product of the supply voltage, the load current, and the power factor of the load.

What is the formula for an acre of land?

the formula is nx2513+21552x3514515= 1 acre simple right?actually the formula is simple: 1 acre=the area of land one farmer with one horse can plow in a single day. since this was difficult to calculate it is now 2500 m2

What are brackets used for when creating a formula or calculation?

Brackets are used for creating an array formula. From Microsoft:An array formula is a formula that can perform multiple calculations on one or more of the items in an array. Array formulas can return either multiple results or a single result. For example, you can place an array formula in a range of cells and calculate a column or row of subtotals. You can also place a formula in a single cell and calculate a single amount. An array formula that resides in multiple cells is called (logically enough) a multi-cell formula, and an array formula that resides in a single cell is called a single-cell formula. To multiply the values in the array (the cell range C2 through D11), select cells E2 through E11, and then enter the following formula in the formula bar:=C2:C11*D2:D11Press CTRL+SHIFT+ENTER to enter the array formula (and observe the brackets in the formula).TIP: If you later go back and edit the array formula, remember to press CTRL+SHIFT+ENTER. Don't just press ENTER or you will destroy the array formula and display an error message until you go to the cell and press CTRL+SHIFT+ENTER again.

The average value of a single sine wave of AC is 42.5amps. what is rms value?

Average Current = 0.636 * (Peak Current)so Peak Current = (Average Current)/0.636RMSCurrent = 0.707 * (Peak Current)so Peak Current = (RMS Current)/0.707Because both equations are in terms of Peak Current, we can set them equal to each other.(Average Current)/0.636 = (RMS Current)/0.707(42.5)/0.636 = (RMS Current)/0.707thenRMS Current = (0.707)(42.5)/0.636 = 47.24 ampsAnother AnswerSince the average value of a single sine wave is zero, you cannot calculate its r.m.s. value!
