some gases are denser than (heavier) air e.g. CO2, HCl, H2S, Cl2. are delivered by downward delivery. while gases which are Less dense than (lighter) air e.g. H2,NH3 are delivered by upward delivery.

simultaneously the downward delivery of gas = upward displacement of air while upward delivery of gas = downward displacement of air.

Is argon an upward delivery gas?

No. Argon is slightly denser than air so would not be collected by upward delivery. In practice downward delivery would be unreliable as the difference in density is so small. However there is no way to prepare argon in the lab so the question is redundant.

What happens when the center of gravity is behind the center of pressure?

With the CG ahead of CP (aka CL), the downward force on the tail creates an upward pitching moment which is opposite of the downward pitching moment caused by the upward force at the CP--these are stabilizing forces. But notice what happens when the CG is behind the CP--both forces now create an upward pitching moment around the CG but there is no counterbalancing downward pitching moment created to stabilize the aircraft.

What are the wind conditions for a a tornado?

Tornadoes form during thunderstorms that occur when there is strong difference, meaning a significant difference between winds at low and high levels. The thunderstorm has updraft (upward moving air) and downdraft (downward moving air) regions. The tornado forms in a rotating part of the updraft called a mesocyclone. A downdraft wraps around the mesocyclone, causing it to tighten and intensify into a tornado.

spreading: rock rises upward then spreads outward.subduction: rock moves inward then subducts downward under lighter rock.

What is the difference between Anticlines and synclines?

An anticline refers to a fold that arches upward to form a ridge. A syncline, meanwhile, refers to a fold that arches downward to form a trough.

Why is there an upward force on objects in fluid?

Gravity pulls both the fluid and the submerged object downward. The difference between the gravitational attractive forces on the fluid and the submerged object describes the upward (buoyant) force that the fluid exerts on the object.
