DC voltage is a constant direction of current flow, it can be a constant amount or very (as long as it never changes direction it is DC). AC voltage is in the form of a sine wave (that will change direction of current flow) so at any specific instant of time you could measure a different voltage as it goes through its cycle.

UPS is uninterruptible power supply. Any UPS has a source of energy and is supplying a load. AC is alternating Current and DC is Direct Current.

If the device you are trying to power uses DC the source could be either batteries (DC), a generator that has an AC to DC converter, or perhaps a fuel cell of some sort. If your device uses AC it could have a DC battery backup, batteries being continually charged that is converted to AC via an inverter, or perhaps a generator that supplies AC directly.

What is the difference between current (DC) and alternating current (AC)?

ac comes directly from the power socket, and DC is battery source. Answer2: The frequency is the difference, AC has frequency f>0 and DC does not f=0.
