Some scholars would say otherwise, but this is so they can justify their belief that Revelation was written and all fulfilled during Nero's reign over Rome and that it was all about the destruction of the Temple in Jerusalem. But Irenaeus writes that John received his vision from God "almost in our own day, during the end of the reign of Domitian." Domitian reigned between 81-96 AD. Hope this helps you. God bless

The Book of Revelation is signed by a person called John resulting in the second-century tradition that the author was the apostle John, exiled on Patmos. However, the great majority of New Testament scholars say that the author wasvery unlikely to have been the apostle John. The author of Revelation says nothing to suggest that he had been exiled or was under any duress.
