You need to look at your insurance policy.
Their is no such thing as full coverage in legal terms. What people refer to when they say that is Physical Damage Coverage for a vehicle. What physical damage coverage breaks down into 2 parts. Collision Coverage: Does include a deductible, covers the vehicle from damage resulting in a person being at-fault in an accident, and damage has occurred to the vehicle in which it has to be repaired or replaced. This does also protect the vehicle if an accident or damage results from a uninsured motorists or under insured motorists Comprehensive Coverage:(also known as other then collision) Does include a deductible, covers the vehicle from damages due to vehicle that are out of control of the insured. This would be from weather, vandalism, theft, hitting an animal, and etc. Remember, insurance company's insure vehicles of the actual cash amount at that time. If you have a collector car, you would to get collector car insurance, in which their is a stated amount.
Yes, less your deductible. You can call it vandalism.
The term collision in insurance covers the cost of damage to a car that is the fault of the insured. Collision insurance does not cover any damage caused from vandalism or theft.
In terms of auto insurance, the deductible is the amount the policyholder is committing to pay if their vehicle is damaged or stolen before the insurance company is responsible for paying out a claim. A deductible applies to both comprehensive and collision physical damage coverage. Comprehensive will pay for damage or loss to your vehicle resulting from fire, theft, vandalism, hail damage, and wind. Collision pays for damage caused by an accident. You will be required to choose a deductible for each coverage ranging from $0 to $2000. While higher deductibles offer lower auto insurance rates, you will be responsible for paying this amount before the insurance company will cut a claims check. Choose a deductible that is practical for your situation.
Vandalism is typically a misdemeanor charge. However, if the damage is severe and the damage is at least $1,000, the charge can become a felony.
Typically, auto insurance deductibles come into play with respect to collision and comprehensive coverage--both of which apply to physical damage to the insured vehicle. Some States also allow an insured to elect a deductible with respect to No-Fault coverage. This coverage is required by law in virtually all States. The rules concerning No-Fault deductibes are prescribed by law because the coverage is mandatory. Deductibes of all types can be likened to self-insurance. That is, the insurance company's responsibility to pay does not attach or begin until the deductible amount has been reached. For example, if a vehicle owner has a $500 collision deductible, and physical damage to the car is $1500, the insurer would pay $1000 and the insured would be responsible for $500. Stated otherwise, the insured "self-insures" for the first $500. Physical damage deductibles come in various amounts, but are fairly standard between companies. Deductibles can range between $100-$500 or more. Generally, a higher deductible translates into a lower premium because the insurer's responsibility for payment does not attach until after the deductible amount has been reached.
When you file a claim against your own company you must pay the deductible. Your company may pay you back the deductible only in cases where they go after someone else who was responsible for the damage and your company manages to collect for that damage. Some (not all) companies may also waive the deductible if the insured made no claim in the past 1 or 2 years, for example.
Texas does not have a vandalism charge. Someone can be charged with criminal mischief, reckless damage or destruction, or graffiti. So it depends on the dollar amount damaged and/or what was damaged.
The value of a damaged car by vandalism in the state of Maryland will depend on the amount of damage. A mechanic or the insurance company can give an estimate of the costs.
The effect of vandalism is both physical and emotional. The physical damage is destruction to property. The emotional damage is discouraging and a feeling of fear. Vandalism is an unfortunate byproduct of society.
