It's generally believed that Siam Silver became fashionable in the Western Hemisphere between the 1930s -1970s. A popular theory is that servicemen and women working in Far Eastern countries (such as Siam/ Thailand) sent home this beautiful jewellery as gifts for loved ones, and collections grew from there.
Siam silver often depicts characters from Thai culture, including the Ramayama (Ramamkien) which is a famous Hindu text.
