The forming placenta will take over progesterone production.
Occasionally the Corpus Luteum will fill with fluid and cause a cyst. It can be uncomfortable and even painful as the cyst eventually bursts.
Repeated cysts can cause scar tissue and is often called Poly Cystic Ovarian Syndrome or PCOS.
