Depending on your skill level anywhere between 5 knots and 20 knots. For someone that is just starting i don't recommend over 11 knots.
Hi There is not an average speed. It depends on the length and wind direction and speed
Perfect small-sailboat weather!
Depends. Size is not the predominant factor when determining speed for a sailboat. Depends on the wind condidtions
Four times the speed of the wind is the fastest so far.
10-15 knots in a good gust of wind
Generally, 1-3 knots slower than the available wind.
Wind powers a sailboat.
4x AWS is alleged to be the top achieved/recorded record. AWS is the acronym of "Average Wind Speed".
The purpose of a keel in a sailboat are to generate lift to counteract the force of the wind. The keel converts the motion of the wind into a forward motion for the sailboat.
It depends on how fast that small sailboat is traveling. The wind also varies in intensity greatly, so there really isn't an average wind speed to even try to calculate how long it would take one sailboat to sail one mile.
Wind and Water are the main elements that help the boat to sail. Water helps the barge or hull to push forward and the wind gives extra speed.
If there is no wind and the sailboat has no auxiliary engine
