if you are on a car title and co signed for that vehicle, and it reads " you or them " can you register the vehicle
Absolutely
The automobile's title/registration determines the legal owner of the vehicle. Loan documents only concern the signer's legal responsibilities with the bank. If both names are on the title and you as primary are not paying on the loan then it is the responsibility of the co-signer to pay the loan. Since the the co-signer is still co-owner, and they are paying then the co-signer can take the car away. Remember this is affecting the co-signer's credit as well as your credit.
Talk to your bank! I had my dad as a co-signer on my truck. I traded it in for a newer one and when I did that I put the loan under just my name
AnswerIf the primary on the contract does not pay then the lienholder comes after the co-signer for the payment. The credit of both the primary and co-signer are going to show repossession. If the lender has kept the title in its files as part of the loan process and is listed as a primary lienholder, it can sell the vehicle after the repossession.
The co-signer's name is on the loan, not the title, and has nothing to do with selling the car, especially after the loan has been paid off. On the other hand, a CO-OWNER's name is on the title, and it depends on how the two names are listed. If the title is made out to A and B, both must sign when selling it, but if it says A or B, either may sell it without the other's approval or knowledge. There may be exceptions to this in some states if the two are a married couple.

both
Yes
If your names BOTH appear on the title - yes - you will both have to sign.
It depends on how the vehicle is titled. If both of your names are on the title she has an equal right to possession of the vehicle as you do. So technically she could take it. But then again you could take it back because you have the same right to the vehicle as she does. Now if its just her name on the title then she can take it without your consent and there's nothing you can do about it.
Not in NY state. Others may be different. Check at your DMV.
Both names should be on the title.
