The ghost dance in the Sioux (Lakota) Tribe involved joining hands with men and women and dancing to the left in giant circle. They followed the patter of the sun setting. Some people from the tribe would be so filled with the "spirit" that they would fall on the ground from being in a trance. Of course, they original prophet that brought the religion to them did not teach the dance this way and taught it completely differently, but because the dance has been interpreted in so many different ways, the original way is not known (and in fact, the whole religion was interpreted differently by the Sioux). Eventually the prophet stopped preaching because he didn't want the religion messed with anymore.
