treaty of Versailles

theres more i just cant think

The Treaty of Versailles was harsh, and when Hitler came to power he began to restore Germany back to it's original state. He also gave the people of Germany a scape goat. The Jewish people.

The failure of the League of Nations was another. The League of Nations was similar to today's United Nations, but it did not have support from the major countries in the world, Britain and France were members but cared very little. And the United States who came up with the idea was not a member.

Isolation and appeasement was another factor, because the countries wanted to be left alone, Canada and the United States in particular wanted to stay out of Europe's problems. Appeasement was a problem because the League of Nations did not stand by their policies and gave Hitler what he wanted.

Lastly the rise of dictators in Europe. Hitler and Mussolini were power hungry and had a military to support them. When they came to power they could do what they wanted, because they believed no one would stop them.
