No, Izzie does flatline but she doesn't die. She comes back for one episode of season 6, but then is fired from Seatlly Grace hopital. Katherine Hiegl leaves the show because she wanted to be close with her family.

∙ 11y agoIzzie didn't die on Grey's Anatomy. The character did have cancer but survived it. Izzie just left Seattle, she didn't die.
Shondra Rimes, the show's creator, was going to kill the character off, but decided against it. She also wanted to bring Katherine Heigl back as a guest star to give the character's story closure, but so far they haven't been able to get her to come back.

However, I do know for a fact that only George dies and Izzy is still on the shows. I have read on msn, yahoo, people and in all the mags (people, tv guide) etc that George is the only one that dies and leaves the show. By the way does Meredith and Derek ever get married? I am trying to get caught up on the reruns every Thursday but they always show the same ones I have seen. George dies, Izzy lives.
