The MPAA ratings system is used to help parents decide whether a movie is right for their kids by informing them of how much language, violence, sex, and drug use is in the film. The ratings "G", "PG", and "PG-13" have no leagl force, however an "R" rating means children cannot see the movie without a parent or guardian and an "NC-17" means children cannot see the movie at all.
