Basically a side entry valve would be in two or three parts, and a top entry valve is a compelete housing, the top entry valve would be used where access is difficult to remove and work on the valve, you can work on a top entry while it is on line where as the side entry valve would have to be removed

What is the functional difference between a ball valve and a butterfly valve?

A ball valve is a ball with a hole through it that rotates around its axis to expose the hole for flow or the solid wall of the ball for no flow. The butterfly valve is a flat piece that is supported in the middle by a shaft that opens or closes when the shaft is rotated.

What is the difference between a globe valve and a ball valve?

The Globe valves are generally used to control the flow rate and ball valve used for open /close purpose only.A globe valve is a type of valve used for regulating flow in a pipeline, consisting of a movable disk-type element and a stationary ring seat in a generally spherical body.A ball valve is a valve with a spherical disc, the part of the valve which controls the flow through it.

What is the difference between Trunnion mounted ball valves and floating ball valves?

Sealing Makes all the difference. The key difference beteween a floating ball valve and a trunnion mounted ball valve is how each achieves a line seal. Trunion mounted ball valves are uses a spring mechanism and/or line pressure assistance to drive the upstream seat against the stationary ball. The surface area exposed to the pressure through the relatively small passageway is actually just the back of the seat. The floating ball valve utilize natural line pressure to press and seal the ball against the downstream seat. The line pressure is exposed to a greater surface area - the entire upstream face of the ball, which is an area equal to the actual pipe size.

What is the difference between reduced bore and full bore valve?

In Full bore ball valve, The bore dia will be same as internal dia of the pipe.In reduced bore, the bore dia is reduced than the ID of pipe.

What is a ball valve?

A ball valve is a contrivance by which a ball, placed in a circular cup with a hole in a bottom, operates as a valve.

What's the difference between floating ball valve and fixed ball valve?

The ball ceramic valve evolved from the plug valve, in which there is a plug initially. The ball valves also can be divided into floating ball valve and fixed ball valve. The differences between floating ball valve and fixed ball valve are as follows. For the fixed ball valve, the ball is fixed and will not move even under pressure. There are floating valve seat to press the sing real tightly on the ball when suffering the media's pressure. Besides, the axletree is equipped with the stem connecting with the ball. The floating ball valve contains the ball floating inside. The structure is simple and has good tightness. When the media goes through, the pressure is passed into the seal rings, therefore the material of the seat rings should be well considered in design.

What is the difference between a ball valve and a globe valve?

A globe is designed for throttling and NON quick closing thus no hydraulic waves are caused. A ball type uses a ball normally stainless rather then a washer for a positive shut off

Top Entry Ball Valve Manufacturer in USA?

Valvesonly is a leading Top Entry Ball valve manufacturer in USA. We manufacture and supply the best quality Ball Valves to Argentina, Brazil, Morocco and Kenya. Top Entry ball valve is also known as top mounted with integral structure of its body reducing valve leakage point. In top entry ball valve internals are inserted from the top, its suitable for in line maintenance.Top entry ball valves adopt fixed both structure as all the force generated by pressure acting on the ball is absorbed by upper and lower bearing to avoid damage of the seat. Parts: • Body • Ball • Stem • Seat • Bonnet • Gasket • Bolts and Nuts • Actuator • Bearings Advantages: • Top-entry ball valves are easy to maintain because they can be repaired without removing the entire valve from the pipeline. The valve can be disassembled from the top, and the internal components can be replaced or serviced. • Cost-effective • High performance • Versatility • Reduced risk of contamination • Flexibility Industries: ● Natural Gas Industries ● Oil & Gas Industries ● Chemical Storage ● Manufacturing sector Applications: They are majorly used in pipeline industries. Valvesonly is a prominent Top Entry Ball valve manufacturer in USA which has the following features: Available specification: Material: WCB,WC6, F22, F11, F55, SS304, SS316 , DUPLEX STEEL CLASS:150 TO 2500 Know more about Top Entry Ball valve provided by Valvesonly

What is the difference between an air valve and gate valve?

An air valve is a spring loaded plastic valve for ventilation. A gate valve is an old fashioned type of water valve where turning a handle lowers a blocking gate over the water inlet. Any sensible plumber now uses ball valves instead.

There is no difference between the cue ball and billiard ball except that the cue ball is white and without significant markings.

What is the difference between double-seated and single-seated ball valve?

Double seated ball valves will hold pressure from either end whereas single seated will only hold pressure rating from one end.
