It's doubtful that many, if any of the people grasped what Jesus was teaching about the coming Judgment. But, as it turns out... it was recorded for our generation today, to read, study and learn a little bit about it.

On one occasion, on the "eighth day" of the seven-day observance of the Feast of Tabernacles; the "Last Great Day" of the feast... [which pictures Judgment Day and the conclusion of God's plan of Salvation] -- Jesus stood up and cried out for all within earshot to hear His summation of what Judgment Day will be like. While "modern professing Christianity" paints a picture of Judgment Day being more on the order of "Condemnation Day"... Jesus reveals a more positive scenario:

"In the Last Day, that Great Day of the Feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, 'If any man thirst, LET HIM COME UNTO ME, and drink. He that believeth on Me, as the Scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of Living Water. (But this spake He of the Spirit, which they that believe on Him should receive: for the Holy Spirit was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet Glorified.)" (John 7:37-39 KJV)

Jesus teaches us that Judgment Day is more than "casting evil men into the Lake of Fire" -- but will be the great CALL TO SALVATION for the vast majority of mankind that shall ever occur.

On another occasion, Jesus teaches us that "it is the BOOKS OF The Bible" [the Living, Written Word of God] that shall be opened on Judgment Day, and shall be the "measuring stick" by which man's "WORKS" shall be Judged.

"He who is rejecting Me, and not receiving My sayings, hath one who is Judging him, THE WORD that I spake[which are the written words, the books, of the Bible], THAT WILL JUDGE HIM in the Last Day, because I spake not from Myself, but the Father who sent Me, He did give Me a Command, what I may say, and what I may speak, and I have known that His Command is Life... therefore, I speak, according as the Father hath said to Me, so I speak." (John 12:48-50 YGB Young's Bible)

"I watched as thrones were put in place and the Ancient One sat down to Judge. His clothing was as white as snow, His hair like whitest wool [see Rev.1:14]. He sat on a fiery throne with wheels of blazing fire, and a river of fire flowed from His presence. Millions of angels ministered to Him, and a hundred million stood to attend Him. Then THE COURT BEGAN IT SESSION, and THE BOOKS WERE OPENED." (Dan.7:9-10 NLT New Living Translation)

"...I saw a great white throne, and I saw the One who was sitting on it. The earth and sky fled from His presence... I saw the dead, both great and small, standing before God's throne. And THE BOOKS WERE OPENED, including the Book of Life. And THE DEAD WERE JUDGED according to THE THINGS WRITTEN IN THE BOOKS, according to what they had done." (Rev.20:11-12 NLT)

Jesus also teaches people that it's at the time of Judgment Day, at the Last Great Day of His plan, that it's the SECOND DEATH FROM WHICH JESUS SAVES PEOPLE!

"And death and the grave were thrown into the Lake of Fire. THIS IS THE SECOND DEATH - the LAKE OF FIRE. And anyone whose name was not found recorded in the Book of Life was thrown into the Lake of Fire." (verses 14-15)

"...Whoever is victorious will not be hurt by THE SECOND DEATH." (Rev.2:11 NLT)

"...They came to Life again, and they reigned with Christ for a thousand years. This is the FIRST RESURRECTION. (The rest of the dead did not come back to life until the thousand years had ended.) Blessed and Holy are those who share in the First Resurrection. For them THE SECOND DEATH HOLDS NO POWER, but they will be priests of God and of Christ and will reign with Him a thousand years." (Rev.20:4-6 NLT)

These are a few of the things Jesus teaches people about the Last Great Day of God's plan... Judgment Day.

Judgment Day will be a most sobering and fearful time, when men will get to reflect with an unfettered heart and mind, his life's works... how they stack up against the Commandments of his Creator [which, of course, THEY WILL NOT]. And it will be that one grand moment when they will be given the opportunity to see the Truth of God, Understand how far they have fallen short of His Glory, and fall down before Him in sorrow, self-loathing and repentance -- and cry out for His Mercy and Forgiveness.

Most of mankind shall "drink in of God's" Mercy and be saved. But, there will also be some who have been, and are, so given over to the depths of sin and wickedness, that they will absolutely refuse to bow to the King. Whereby, Jesus teaches people what their Judgment and sentence will be:

"And now about these enemies of Mine who didn't want Me to be their King - bring them in and EXECUTE THEM RIGHT HERE IN MY PRESENCE." (Luke 19:27 NLT)

Jesus teaches people that it's not the "First Death" from which He saves us... but, the SECOND DEATH on Judgment Day.

"And just as it is destined that each person DIES ONLY ONCE and after that COMES JUDGMENT [at the Last Day], so also Christ died only once as a sacrifice to take away the sins of many people. He will come again but not to deal with our sins again. This time He will bring salvation to all those who are eagerly waiting for Him." (Heb.9:27-28 NLT)

Jesus teaches people: "All who are victorious will inherit all these blessings, and I will be their God, and THEY WILL BE MY CHILDREN. But cowards who run away from Me, and unbelievers, and the corrupt, and murderers, and immoral, and those who practice witchcraft, and idol worshipers, and all liars - their doom is IN THE LAKE that burns with fire and sulfur. THIS IS THE SECOND DEATH." (Rev.21:7-8 NLT)

Finally... Jesus teaches people, as Judgment Day approaches:

"Let the one who is doing wrong continue to do wrong; the one who is vile, continue to be vile; the one who is good, continue to do good; and the one who is holy, continue in holiness. See, I AM coming soon, and My Reward is with Me, to repay all according to their deeds." (Rev.22:11-12 NLT)
