Three possible causes.
The first and most obvious is sunburn. Plants especially plants that have been kept indoors or in a protected environment are susceptible to this if they are suddenly exposed to bright, direct sunlight.
The second could be that the plant has been sprayed with something - herbicide or even a pesticide or fungicide applied at the incorrect concentration.
Third cause would be a nutrient imbalance - deficiency or excess
Bleaching occur by oxidation or reduction reactions.
They mostly do it in their leaves because that is where the choloroplast is and it holds cholorophyll that causes photosynthesis which is the process of making food for a plant.
because the leaves create food for the plant.
Magnesium deficiency create dead leaves and yellow leaves on a plant.
The leaves make the food for the plant.
the plants are being over-watered and the root system is showing signs of damage - resulting in reverse osmosis and the loss of nutrients from the bottom leaves of the plant back into the soil
