3,4'-dicarboxy-4-hydroxy azo benzene.

it is a coupling reaction...........it forms a azo dye.

when salicylic acid reacts with amino benzoinc acid.. initially amino benzoinc acid

reacts with nitrous acid and hydrochloric acid to form azo group....

azo group: -N=N-

then that azo compound react with salicylic acid to form an azo dye

(3,4'-dicarboxy-4-hydroxy azo benzene).

C6H4COOH(OH)-salicylic acid

C

H2NC6H4CO2H- amino benzoinc acid.

H2NC6H4CO2H+HNO2+HCL-->CL-N=N-C6H4COOH

(AZO COMPOUND)

3,4'-dicarboxy-4-hydroxy azo benzene.

(AZO DYE)

What is the oxidation reduction reaction between maltose and DNS?

dns or dinitrosalicylic acid has a nitro group in its 3 and 5 positions each.maltose being a reducing sugar reduces the amino group at 3 rd carbon to amino grp and itself gets oxidized. the reduced product thus formed is 3-amino,5-nitro salicylic acid which is orange-red in color.

What forms a peptide bonds?

A peptide bond is a covalent chemical bond formed between a molecule from a carboxyl group of one molecule or more molecule reacts with the amino group of the other molecule. This is called a dehydration synthesis reaction.

What types of bonds are the ones that attach amino acids to each other in a growing polypeptide?

They are amide bonds -covalent. When an amino acid reacts with another, the carboxylic acid reacts with the amine forming an amide.
