i hope you mean awards won by him...

he at first surprised everyone refusing to be nominated for membership of the royal society. later in 1822 he was elected to the society by his admirers without his knowledge.

in 1832 he was persuaded to accept a doctorate of science from the university of oxford.

he had a problem in taking the doctorate. it is with the oxford gown,as it is scarlet and he being a devout quaker doesn't wear any red.because he couldn't disappoint his friends he fell back on his colour blindness and remarked that university gown appeared gray to him.

in 1833, the british government conferred on him a pension of £150, which was raised to £300 in 1836.

Manchester metropolitan university has a building named after John Dalton and occupied by the Faculty of Technology, in which the majority of its Science & Engineering lectures and classes take place. A statue is outside the John Dalton Building of the Manchester Metropolitan University in Chester Street which has been moved from Piccadilly. It was the work of William Theed and is dated 1855.
