The Arabs also overthrew what remained of the Western Roman Empire in Africa like Carthage in Tunisia. Finally the Arabs (assisted strongly by the indigenous North African Amazigh - Berber peoples) conquered Visigothic Spain, taking everything save the Northern coast.
