Ferdinand Magellan was the first explorer to circumnavigate the world. After departing Portugal, he sailed down the west coast of South America, south of the continent, then across to Southeast Asia. Magellan himself was killed in the Philippines, but one of his ships continued, crossing the Indian ocean to Africa, sailing up the east coast to return to Portugal.

Specific parts of the world where Magellan explored extensively include India and the Far East. He was also the one who named the Pacific Ocean.

Who sponsored Ferdinand Magellan's voyage?

Magellan's voyage was financed and supplied by the Spanish king Charles I (who later became Emperor Charles V of the Holy Roman Empire). The sponsorship included five ships, pay for the crews and supplies for two years voyage. The reason for the voyage was to discover a new route to the Spice Islands (modern Indonesia and Malaysia) that did not infringe on Portuguese territory.Magellan was killed in battle at Mactan (near Cebu Island, Philippines) on 27 April 1521. He went into this battle on behalf of Rajah Humabon, a local Cebuano leader whom Magellan had befriended and had accepted baptism, against his enemy Lapu-Lapu. Due to the geography of the area, Magellans ships were unable to come close enough to land for their cannon to be employed. Magellan and his men were forced to row a long distance to shore. Upon landing they were attacked by a superior force of Lapu-Lapu's warriors. Magellan, severely wounded, ordered his men to return to the boats. Most of his men escaped but Magellan was killed. The remainder of the voyage was completed with Magellan's navigator, Juan Sebastian Elcano, in command. The story of the voyage was written by the navigator of Magellan's flagship, Antonio Pigafetta.Source(s):See Wiki article on Ferdinand Magellan. How did Ferdinand Magellan influence the people and culture where they traveled?

His main effect on indigenous people was how he spread Christianity. Aside from this, he was also a notable thief. Many times along his journey he would take goods as well as native wives along with him to be later sold on the black market in Spain. One major event in his voyage was the kidnapping of the Philippine chief's mistress Watollnignwa. this not only caused much upset among the chief, but also many other farmers in the area relying on her good charity to feed their families.

Who was the leader after Ferdinand Magellan died?

The Philippines as a country did not exist. The Philippine archipelago was divided into many different tribes. The island of Cebu was divided into many smaller tribes and each tribe had their own share of land. During Magellan's arrival to the Philippines he was only a visitor. Magellan landed on the area where Rajah Humabon was the leader. Lapu Lapu was the leader of an area from Mactan Island. The concept of unification as one country came from the Spaniards. That is why the Philippines is named after King Philip of Spain, it was because of his decision to colonize the Philippine archipelago that the Philippines came to be governed under one state. That state was the Colony of the Spanish East Indies, it consisted of the Philippines, Guam and the Marianas Islands. The capital was Cebu, then Manila. This was under the Spanish Empire.

What is the antonym for explore?

Once again we are faced with the problem of opposites. Explore means to tavel an area for the purpose of discovery. So the opposite could be to stay in one place in order not to discover something new: hide. Or it could be to travel an area without wishing to discover anything: itinerate. Or it could mean to stay in one place in order to discover something: contemplate.

How do you please your man?

Explore gently, and you should gradually discover his little 'turn-ons'. In particular, you might explore the area between his testicles and his anus. (A lot of men are a bit anal). Also, find the root of his penis and press ... Some men also like to be spanked in a good-natured way. Now I'll stop there and let you discover.
