Doppler radar wouldn't be possible if the speed of light were infinite. Also it wouldn't be possible if the electromagnetic waves didn't reflect on objects. Also it helps a lot if those electromagnetic waves have a particular frequency as opposed to a wide spectrum.

What has the electromagnetic spectrum got to do with the Doppler Effect?

The Doppler effect affects any wave, including electromagnetic waves. Basically, the idea of the Doppler effect is that the frequency of a wave increases when an object approaches you, and it decreases when it moves away from you. You can imagine that the sound waves, or electromagnetic waves, become compressed when the emitting object moves toward you.

The increase in frequency of an approaching source of electromagnetic radiation is termed the?

Doppler effect

Is the Doppler effect is the same as sound waves?

I fear you're confused - BUT : The Doppler effect is similar for both sound waves and electromagnetic radiation (light, radar).

Can Doppler's Effect only be observed in sound waves?

No. We observe the Doppler Effect in all forms of waves, including sound waves and all forms of electromagnetic radiation.

What is a C-Band Doppler radar?

C-Band Doppler Radar is any Doppler radar system which operates in the C-Band of the electromagnetic spectrum (around 4.8Ghz). These are typically the radar systems seen at TV stations as they are affordable and powerful enough for their purposes.

Does the Doppler effect only apply to sound waves?

No

What is the name of of the ultrasonic documentation that records velocity mapping and imaging?

Doppler echocardiography Doppler echocardiography Doppler echocardiography Doppler echocardiography

What is the change in frequency of a sound due to motion of the source?

The change in frequency is caused by the Doppler Effect

Is Doppler effect in sound symetric or asymetric?

Doppler effect in sound is asymmetric. This means the change in frequency depends on whether the source is in motion or observer is in motion even though relative velocities are same in both cases. Doppler effect in sound is asymmetric because sound is mechanical wave requiring material medium and v, v0, vs are taken with respect to the medium. .Doppler effect in light is symmetric because light waves are electromagnetic (do not require medium)

A detected apparent change in the pitch caused by the motion of a sound source or of an observer is called?

The Doppler effect. The Doppler effect. The Doppler effect. The Doppler effect.

What is an explanation of the Doppler shift?

The Doppler Shift is a change in frequency due to the Doppler Effect.

Which other noun starts with Doppler?

Doppler effect and Doppler radar are the two most common compound nouns for the proper adjective Doppler.
