The "Sahara" cuts across a huge swathe ( 9,400,000 square kilometers) of the North of the continent of Africa from East to West, it actually covers most of North Africa. The Sahara starts at the Red Sea to the East and the Mediterranean coasts of Africa to the North and stretched to the Atlantic Ocean in the West. Its Southern margin is delimited by the Sahel belt.
