In addition, he spent many years in medical research in areas such as typhoid fever; dysentery; measles and diphtheria which led to the control of these diseases in the Philippines He also set medical standards for (i) the prevention as well as control of disease; (ii) promotion and conservation of health as well as (iii) environmental sanitation.
