The five (5) original industrial arts are: 1.) woodworking and all other carpentry and joinery; 2.) masonry and all other stonecraft and pottery; 3.) upholstery and all other needlecraft; 4.) all Metallurgy and all "smithing" (up to, and ceasing with, the Renaissance), and; 5.) glass making.

A word before we begin ...our agreement upon a common set of definitions here is crucial. "Original" means dating from perhaps as early as the late Iron Age. "Industrial" means applicable to work and, hence, progress. "Arts" is indicative of the near infinite aesthetic possibilities inherent in whatever "work" may be at hand.
