My best friend did her speech on her big sister and she got in the finals.She did another speech obout how to write a speech. She is really funny and got into the finals with both speeches.
I think that you should put down at least five or six paragraphs (1/2 - 3/4 of a page) to get a good grade at least!

Try to get an interesting topic that will grab your audience's attention. What is popular between grade 6 today? Try talking about something interesting, that will not get the audience bored.
