Purine containing foods are a problem for people diagnosed with Gout.

Those suffering from gout must be aware of foods containing high levels of purine.

These are some of the foods that top the list.

Brewers Yeast tops the list

Neck sweetbreads of calves, liver from all animals, sardines, pilchard and sprat smoked or in oil, Anchovies, Organ meats like heart and kidney. Barley and oats can also contain purine but not in quantities such as fish and animal organ meat.
