Haha... We use a variety of different tools; to name a few: We use Geological Hammers, Chisels, Puddy knifes, and ofcourse eye protection, helmet, steel toed boots, gloves, and sometimes a reflective vest (depends where we are opperating).
And we also do alot on computers; We use computers (Sometimes laptops in the field), Microscopes, and cameras.

-microscopes, Stereo and compound, mainly stereo.
-cleaning tools, such as air scribes, dental picks, brush's.
-Hand magnifiers, Lupe's.
-Cameras, or drawing skills.
-Journals/logbooks to document Field studies and important discoveries.
-Small containers (vials) for smaller specimens.
-Field guides.
-GPS system.
-White glue mainly for invertebrate specimens in the matrix (white glue because it is water soluble, you can remove it when you would like), and plaster for casting bones.
-Backpacks.
-Light chemicals such as vinegar, for small chemical tests (i.e. Testing for calcite)
-First aid kit (Safety is always number one- Put your safety before the fossil)
-Putty knifes, or screwdrivers (for shale and other soft, easily split sedimentary rocks)
