In 1663 John Eliot's translation of this, both the old & new parts, appeared in Algonquin
Answer What is The Bible from Jeopardy on Tuesday July 11 2006 show # 5042
No. A title of a book would never been used for a question or clue without more information to hint at an answer and 8 words is too long for it to be an answer because the contestants would not be able to write it down on the answer cards.
If, by saying, ''the new world translation of the holy scriptures'' (no capitals) you mean ''The New World Translation of the Holy Scriptures'' (capitalized) published in 1961 by the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society aka Jehovah's Witnesses, then the answer is NO.
is a translation of the Bible published by the Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society in 1961; it is used and distributed by Jehovah's Witnesses
New World Translation of the Holy Scriptures (and this was the correct answer on the television show: 'Jeopardy' when this very question was asked recently)
It is posted on Facebook that The New World Translation of the Holy Scriptures by the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society is the most accurate translation of the bible. This is erroneous. I have researched this and according to several highly respected bible scholars the NWT is most inaccurate and is biased to support the doctrines of the teachings of Jehovah's Witnesses.
There were over 12,000 question in 2011 season
Research of the Name Beduhn or a question on the accuracy or accurate translation of the bible is not present in the Jeopardy Archive of Jeopardy programs. The question may belong to the Bible Jeopardy site rather than a question about the Jeopardy show.
I watched the episode, and was surprised by the answer, which I will never forget, because Jehovah's Witnesses have been made the laughing stock by comedians throughout my life. How people do laugh at the jokes that they tell concerning them. However, they are the most avoided religion by people of the world. I asked myself, why? The question was, and I quote: "What is the most accurate translation of the holy scriptures?" The answer was, and I quote: " What is the New World Translation Of The Holy Scriptures." If you watch Jeopardy. You know the sounds of things on Jeopardy when the answer is correct. Bells and Alex trebek telling you, "you are correct." That's just the way it was. I have no reason to lie. I have nothing to lose or gain in telling you this. I have gained the knowledge of the truth in that question and answer. That episode has benefited my life very well since then. The accuracy of God's word has helped me to understand it better, and has cleared up the confusion that other translations brought to my mind. Now, I understand and feel in my life what Jesus said when he said, the truth will set you free. Therefore, I must thank God for helping me to wholeheartedly search for the truth of his word as he intended it when he inspired man to write it.
