In chemical reactions, the reaction involves a change in the amount of energy in the chemicals involved. In some reactions the chemicals have less energy when the reaction is complete, since energy has to go somewhere it is given off as heat; this means the chemicals get hotter, because the reaction gives out heat it is called exothermic. Exo as in exit for going out, and thermic for heat, like in the word thermometer.
A reaction where the chemicals need more energy after the reaction absorbs energy from its surroundings in the form of heat. This means the heat energy is converted into another form of energy, so with this loss of heat the chemicals cool down. This is called an endothermic reaction.
Exothermic gives out heat (warms up)
Endothermic absorbs heat (cools down)
Some reactions occurs through several steps. Each step can be exo or endothermal. Ex:-Production of CO(NH2)2 1st step CO2+NH3---NH4COONH2.This step is exothermal. 2nd step NH4COONH4---CO(NH2)2 This step is endothermal.
Freezing is exothermic, as the substance that is freezing loses energy to its surroundings.
it is an endothermic
Exothermic/endothermic is a process not a feeling.
Exothermic phenomenon
endothermic but don't know why? As AN crystals are formed the reaction is exothermic. Endothermic when it melts back with water. This is the reason AN is used in cold packs.
The combustion is exothermic.
freezing is exothermic, melting is endothermic, evaporation is endothermic, condensation is exothermic.
Freezing is exothermic, as the substance that is freezing loses energy to its surroundings.
Silicon is an element - endothermic or exothermic is meaningless.
Exothermic reaction.
exothermic- because exothermic gives off heat and endothermic is cold
