The movie actually was filmed in California. Scenes of the Warner House were filmed in the rural town Visalia, CA. I'm not sure if the house was legit or if it was merely a set.

It was filmed at Victoria Garden (house) and Ritchie Barn (barn & farm ag scenes), Visalia, near Ivanhoe, CA. Both are wedding and party venues.
