His parents were brother and sister. His father was Akhenaten, and his mother is known simply as "The Younger Lady". Akhenaten has at least 5 known consorts with whom he produced children. Tutankhamun was married to his half sister. This was a fairly common practice. When your wife has to physically be a goddess, it makes for a rather... shallow... gene pool.
