Newton's Universal Gravitation and anomalies in Uranus' orbit. J.C. Adams and U.J.J. Le Verrier noticed anomalies in Uranus' orbit and attributed those to another unseen planet pulling on it. That hypothesis isn't possible without the acceptance of Universal Gravitation.

Why is Neptune the planet discovered by pen?

the reason Neptune is the planet discovered by pen is because unlike the other planets, Neptune was not discovered by finding it in the night sky. After Uranus was discovered, it was seen that its orbit was different than what was predicted, and it was decided that this was because of another unknown planet's gravitational pull. Then, mathematics was used to find the other planet, Neptune.

In the 1800s why did astronomers predict that the planet neptune would be discovered well before anyone had seen it?

Astronomers saw some deviations from the expect orbit of the planet Uranus. Based on these deviations, some theorized that Uranus was being pulled out of its expect orbit by another planet, which turned out be Neptune.

Which planet was predicted to exist mathematically?

Neptune. Calculations played a part in the discovery of Pluto as well, though in that case the calculations were actually incorrect. Pluto just happened to coincidentally be near the predicted region, and was found only because people were studying that area in particular detail.

Why was the discovery of Neptune a major confirmation of Newton's law of gravitaion?

There were anomalies in Uranus' orbit that astronomers thought could be evidence of another planet pulling it out of orbit. This theory was later confirmed. It supports the law of gravitation because of Neptune's exertion of a force on Uranus that caused it to have a different orbit than predicted.

How is the discovery of Neptune important?

It's the first time that a planet had been found mathematically, also, it solidified Newton's theory of Universal Gravitation.

Would Neptune make a good location for a manned mission to colonize the planet?

We can't colonize it because we can't land on it.

Why is neptune named after NEptune?

Neptune is named that because Neptune is the god of the sea and the sea is blue. Neptune is also blue. Comment: That can't be the answer though, because they didn't know that the planet was blue at the time it was named.

Why is it there the Neptune?

Neptune's vision is blue and it is the 8th planet. There is Neptune because it is a planet.

Why Pluto do not revolve around the Neptune?

because neptune is not a star and Pluto is not a moon of neptune

Why is Neptune dark?

neptune is dark because it is fathest from the sun

What is the location and distance of Pluto?

Firstly, Pluto actually has an oval-shaped orbit so you can not determine the the distance from the Sun because it will be different. Secondly, because of the egg-shaped orbit Pluto crosses over from Neptune making Neptune the 9th planet and Pluto the 8th planet. Hope this helps! :)
