There is not any medicine prescribed for lactic acid build up. You can take motrin/ibuprofin/advil or whatever you prefer and the pain should die down. If you are a runner make sure to do a cool down run after a big workout.

to cool down; JOG about a mile and the lactic acid will settle and you will not get sore.
