Smallworlds is 100% free. But you also have an option to pay for a VIP membership. You can pay real money or gold from the site that you can get by:

-Using the Gambit machines/ peanut labs machines

-Doing your loyalty challenge (you get a rare prize after 4 weeks of completing it. can be sold for thousands of gold)

-Inviting friends to smallworlds (You get 100 gold per person that joins and you get gold when they reach a certain level, you also increase in citizen levels which give you gold when you complete your loyalty challenge each week)

I have been playing smallworlds since Beta and in my opinion it's a great site and very addicting. I recomend it to anyone looking for a new game to play.
